Transnational Access EuroMagNET II

The EuroMagNET consortium has received funding from the European Commission for the period 1 January 2009 - 31 December 2012. EuroMagNET II has a number of activities; one of them is giving access to the highest continuous and pulsed magnetic fields at a number of different installations.

Bi yearly (deadlines May and November 15) a call for proposals is launched. The next call for proposals will be launched in April 2012 (submission deadline 15th of May), inviting proposals for research requiring access to one of the large installations for high magnetic fields managed by EuroMagNET II:

  • LNCMI-G (formerly GHMFL), the High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Grenoble, France
    Static magnetic fields to 35 T;
  • HFML, the High Field Magnet Laboratory in Nijmegen, the Netherlands
    Static magnetic fields to 33 T;
  • LNCMI-T, the Laboratoire National des Champs Magnétiques Pulsés in Toulouse, France
    Pulsed magnetic fields of over 80 T;
  • HLD, Hochfeld Magnetlabor Dresden in Dresden, Germany
    Pulsed magnetic fields to 80 T.

Access to one or more of the infrastructures will be given for research in high magnetic fields, provided that a research proposal for access was positively rated by a User Selection Panel based on:

  1. scientific quality and originality of the proposal;
  2. necessity for the use of the infrastructure;
  3. track record and past performance related to the proposal.

For user-groups from EU member-states, candidate countries and associated countries (other than the country where the installation is located) support can be given for travel and subsistence costs of the guest-researchers.

Please do acknowledge any support under this scheme in all resulting publications with "Part of this work has been supported by EuroMagNET II under the EU contract number 228043"

Proposals received after the deadline, that are considered of sufficient urgency, may be handled as they arrive and fit into any available time. Express your interest in future calls by subscribing to the e-mail list by sending an e-mail to hfmlsecr at science ru nl with subject: “Access to high magnetic fields”
